Description: Upward Bound is one of six national federally funded TRIO Programs. Our mission is to provide high school students (low-income and potential-first-generation college students) with the skills and motivation needed to enter and complete a college or university of their choice. Over the past 39 years, the program has served hundreds of Columbus area families. OWU Upward Bound has a 100 percent college-placement rate and a 64% college graduation rate. The program presently serves 115 students who are recruited as freshman and sophomores. As determined by the grant proposal, qualifying students must attend one of the 'target schools'. A list of these schools can be found in the Who is Eligible section. Students are also eligible if they live in the Columbus Enterprise Zone.
